Théodore Rousseau: The Voice of the Forest at Petit Palais March 5 – July 7

The painter Théodore Rousseau (1812-1867) was one of the precursors of a new French landscape school in the mid-19thcentury. This school paved the way for Impressionism. He was particularly renowned for visiting the village named Barbizon and the forest of Fontainebleau. This is a must-see exhibition at the Petit Palais.


Auguste Herbin: Musée de Montmartre from March – September 15

This is the first ever retrospective of the painter Auguste Herbin’s work (1882-1960). Herbin was a key figure of several revolutionary 20th century art movements. This 2024 Paris exhibition retraces the artist’s seven creative periods: postimpressionism, fauvism, cubism, monumental objects and new figuration as well as first and second abstraction.


Jan Van Eyck: The Virgin of Chancellor Rolin at the Louvre March 20 – June 17, 2024

In celebration of the historic conservation work carried out on Jan van Eyck’s masterpiece – The Virgin of Chancellor Rolin – the Musée du Louvre is dedicating the first spotlight exhibition about this painting and its restoration process.
